Holidaymakers could soon enjoy a more rewarding and informative cruising experience if recommendations by
Royal Caribbean Cruises are adopted by the cruise sector.
The company, which operates the world's largest cruise ship,
Oasis of the Seas, has called on companies to exploit the internet to offer advice and consultations to holidaymakers.
According to Jo Rzymowska, the firm's associate vice-president and general manager for UK and Ireland, the sector has the capacity to deliver such a service to travellers.
She explained: "People will always want consultations and good advice and we just have so much at our fingertips to make that available.
Ms Rzymowska added that cruising is benefitting from consumers' reluctance to give up their holidays because of the recession.
"As a result of that cruising has come out faring massively well because there is no better holiday that offers so much," she explained.
Seven celebrity godmothers including Gloria Estefan and Daisy Fuentes presided over the inauguration of Oasis of the Seas.
