Cunard have had an exciting year celebrating their 175th anniversary with a whole host of special events. Moving forward with style they have now announced their next chapter of innovation and investment which will see the world’s most iconic ocean liner,
Queen Mary 2, undergo major refurbishments in early summer 2016.
In their 175 years, Cunard have consistently been at the forefront of the cruise industry through innovative ship designs and introducing the world to the first ever transatlantic crossings with their iconic fleet.
Continuing their forward thinking approach, an extensive 25 day dry-dock refurbishment is planned for Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2 on the 27th May 2016. Ship enhancements will commence at the Blohm+Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany.
Cunard are introducing 15 new Single Staterooms to Queen Mary 2 in order to fulfil a popular demand from their loyal guests who occasionally travel in multi-generational groups. Other enhancements include 30 additional Britannia Club Balcony Staterooms plus extra kennels for animal lovers to bring their beloved four legged friends onboard.
Further planned developments for the refurbishment are yet to be released.
“Queen Mary 2 is an icon in the world of luxury ocean travel. A ship that turns heads everywhere she goes, she is the pride of the Cunard fleet and we are committed to ensuring her reputation grows ever stronger.” Said Angus Struthers, Cunard Director.
