Princess Cruises is the latest in a series of cruise lines to focus its attention on the
Mediterranean cruise holiday sector.
More than 30 new European itineraries have been announced by
Princess Cruises, among the categories of sailings are: Mediterranean and Greek Isles; Holy Land, Egypt and the Black Sea; Scandinavia/Russia; Northern Europe and British Isles; New Northern Europe and a series of Transatlantic cruises.
According to the cruise line, the Mediterranean is "filled" with historic treasures as well as "magnificent" cities to explore and "picture-perfect" islands.
"Our next season offers so many exciting options, from time-tested favorites such as the brilliant Greek Isles to intriguing new destinations in far-flung reaches such as Iceland," Jan Swartz, Princess Senior Vice-President commented.
She added that the packages were ideally suited for holidaymakers new to the world of European cruising as well as "veteran travellers".
The cruise line's 2009 Europe programme will include six ships sailing on 90 voyages of 36 different itineraries to 132 different destinations.
