Princess Cruises has revealed details of a groundbreaking Panama Canal voyage, set to take place in the 2008-09 season.
As part of the itinerary, sister ships
Coral Princess and
Island Princess are to embark on full canal transit voyages as well as roundtrip partial transits, while
Pacific Princess is to carry out one 20-day Grand Canal cruise.
A total of 40 departures on six itineraries are to be offered overall - ideally suited to the traveller who appreciates diversity.
"We carry more passengers through the Panama Canal than any other cruise line, and we're delighted so many travellers have chosen us over the past 40 years as the best way to escape and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Jan Swartz,
Princess Cruises' Senior Vice President of Customer Service and Sales.
"What better view from your Princess balcony than an up-close look at these amazing locks in action."
The Panama Canal traverses Central America's Isthmus of Panama and is a significant conduit for international shipping.
Passengers can select journeys that take in destinations as diverse as Costa Rica, Acapulco, Nicaragua and Guatemala.
The line recently announced new voyages in Tahiti and Hawaii.
