Passengers sailing with
Princess Cruises will have the opportunity to watch live coverage of the inauguration of Barack Obama.
Taking place on January 20th, the swearing-in of the latest US president-elect is likely to be one of the most popular television events in recent history.
The ceremony will be broadcast by CNN International throughout the day.
Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises' executive vice president, said the cruise line had recognised the intense interest surrounding the event.
"We regularly broadcast 'don't miss' television events for passengers and this significant ceremony certainly fits with our dedication to providing these memorable viewing opportunities," she commented.
Princess will also broadcast a number of other upcoming events including the Super Bowl and the Academy Awards.
Liners currently operated by Princess include the
Caribbean Princess,
Tahitian Princess and
Ruby Princess.
