Princess Cruises has emerged victorious at the prestigious British Travel Awards after being declared the Best Luxury Cruise Line.
The Southampton-based cruise line beat rival
Oceana to win the gong as
Royal Caribbean Cruises trounced
P&O Cruises to secure the top honours in the Best Mainstream Cruise Line category.
More than 100,000 votes were cast by the British public and industry professionals during the annual showcase, which recognises operators in a variety of categories representing the travel sector.
Pieter van der Schee, head of brand marketing at Princess Cruises, welcomed the recognition.
He said: "We are delighted to win this highly prestigious award as it reflects the success of Princess Cruises in the UK and highlights consumer recognition of our unrivalled American style luxury service and 'can-do' attitude."
The Post Office was declared the Best Travel Insurance Company as well as the Best Foreign Exchange Company for the fourth and third consecutive year respectively.
