Ocean Village offers new cabins

Ocean Village Cruises has announced intentions to revamp one of its liners, Ocean Village Two, in order to cater for single parent families.

The company has said that it intends to introduce three-bed cabins to the new liner, which is set to launch next year, in order to accommodate what it sees as an increasing trend in the cruise world.

"Our kids and teens clubs and night nursery give single parents the benefit of much needed 'me' time whilst our relaxed style on board and upbeat activities ashore create a very friendly atmosphere for families," said Peter Shanks, Managing Director of Ocean Village Cruises.

"Over the coming years we expect to welcome increasing numbers of single parent families on board and we'll continue to adapt our offering to help cater for them."

Ocean Village Cruises also says that according to Mintel research, work commitments often mean that parents have to holiday separately, with one parent taking the children while the other works.

A third of holidays taken by single parent families in 2004 were because one partner was too busy to work.

Ocean Village Two is the cruise line's second ship, due to begin operations in spring 2007.
