Royal Caribbean Cruises' vessel Oasis of the Seas is set to call in at the Virgin Islands as part of its 2009 cruise schedule, it has been reported.
According to the Virgin Islands Daily News, the region's tourism department made the announcement on Monday June 30th.
Oasis of the Seas, which will reportedly be the world's largest cruise ship, will visit Charlotte Amalie when it makes its debut
Caribbean cruise in 2009.
The cruise liner, which can hold 5,400 passengers, will also visit St Thomas St Maarten and the Bahamas.
Among the many innovative features on Oasis of the Seas will be its AquaTheater.
An outdoor venue located towards the stern of the ship, the amphitheater will offer a "spectrum" of activities during the day and many performances by night.
The AquaTheater pool will be the largest and deepest freshwater pool at sea measuring 6.6 meters by 15.7 metres wide and has a depth of 5.4 metres.
