Cunard Cruises has announced that
Queen Mary 2 is to host a series of musical concerts next summer.
In an acoustic affiliation with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO),
Cunard Cruises will present the National Symphony Orchestra 2008-2009 Red Series as part of its Cunard Insights programme.
A selection of Kennedy Centre chamber players will take part, alongside NSO director Nigel Boon in a series of performances and lectures onboard
Queen Mary 2 on September 8th 2009.
Carol Marlow, president of
Cunard Cruises, described the event as further demonstrating the cruise line's commitment to performing arts.
It was recently announced that the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts would be part of the cultural enrichment programme onboard
Queen Mary 2 in 2009.
"Whether it is our sponsorship of cultural institutions such as the National Symphony Orchestra or our own Cunard Insights onboard enrichment programme, our dedication to culture and the arts is reflected in virtually everything we do," Ms Marlow commented.
