Norwegian Spirit, cruise ship of Norwegian Cruise Lines, is to have a new home port from November 2007 to take guests on Caribbean cruise holidays.
The liner will drop anchor in New Orleans and run week-long Caribbean cruise holidays to the western Caribbean until April 2008.
"We are thrilled with the commitment that Norwegian Cruise Lines has shown our city and that the company will return in 2007 with Norwegian Spirit," said Gary LaGrange, president and chief executive officer of the Port of New Orleans.
Currently, Norwegian Spirit is showing guests the sights and sounds of Bermuda, St Thomas and the British Virgin Islands from its home port off New York, offering exciting Caribbean cruise holidays to those who wish to indulge.
Norwegian Spirit can carry almost 2,000 passengers on its Caribbean cruise holidays, offering 600 oceanview staterooms, 65 per cent of which have balconies overlooking the beautiful ocean.
Norwegian Cruise Lines' itineraries for its Caribbean cruise holidays from New Orleans will include stops in Belize City, Santo Tomas, Guatemala and Costa Maya, among others.
