Norwegian Cruise Lines intends to keep one of its ships in European waters throughout the winter season, it has been revealed.
According to TravelMole, Norwegian Jade will be the first ship to be positioned in Europe for the full year in the company's history.
Originally, it had been intended that the cruise liner would return to the US later on in 2008, most likely in November, however, the travel website now reports that Norwegian Jade won't be deployed until 2010.
"Norwegian Jade has been very well received in her first season and our full three-ship fleet in Europe is doing so well that we are now confident in committing a ship year-round to this strongly growing market," commented
NCL president Colin Veitch.
This summer, Norwegian Jade, will be based in the UK and will travel to the Mediterranean, Norway and will operate a selection of weekend cruises to Le Havre and Zeebrugge.
Norwegian Cruise Lines offers freestyle cruising with no dress code or set meal times.
