Norwegian Cruise Line has begun its search for the godmother of its newest ship,
Norwegian Gem.
Prospective godmothers - or It Girls, as the line prefers to call them - are being invited to submit a video online explaining why they are suitable for the esteemed position.
Running until November 12th 2007, the competition is to be narrowed down to five finalists initially, before the grand prize winner is announced during
Norwegian Gem's christening in December.
"
Norwegian Gem represents the ultimate in Freestyle Cruising and is the ultimate It Girl," said Colin Veitch,
Norwegian Cruise Line's President and Chief Executive Officer.
"In looking for her godmother, we wanted to reflect her hip personality while rewarding one of our past guests with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
To qualify for entry, voyagers must be a member of Latitude, the loyalty club for anyone who has sailed with the line at least once before.
Features of
Norwegian Gem include a fitness centre, sparkling pool and 11 bars and lounges.
