Silversea Cruises has announced the expansion of its fleet of luxury ships.
Following negotiations with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, the line plans to construct a ship that will hold 540 passengers and has optioned plans for a sister ship with the cruise construction company.

Silversea Cruises' Chairman, said that the line is "now poised to further develop our unique style of luxury travel with a new generation of ship design".
Silversea Cruises last new ship order was in 1998, for the award winning Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper.
Known for its elegance and unparalleled levels of quality, the line is clearly committed to expanding its enviable reputation further through its work with Fincantieri.
Based in Trieste, the Italian company has built over 7,000 ships in its 200 year history.
