Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) said it plans to take shore excursions to the "next level", with the introduction of its new private tour service.
Passengers will have the opportunity to choose from a range of tour options, from private horseback rides in Tuscany - to VIP trips through the fjords of Alaska.
Colin Veitch, NCL's president and chief executive, said: "These once-in-a-lifetime tours embody NCL's Freestyle Cruising by offering guests a completely customised experience to fit their individual needs, interests and schedule."
According to
NCL, around 60 per cent of cruisers opt to take a shore excursion while on holiday and enjoy having the opportunity to experience a country 'up close'.
Aside from organised tours,
NCL also offers passengers the option of taking a four or nine-hour private vehicle tour, guaranteeing "complete freedom".
NCL offers over 60 itineraries and stops at over 140 ports of call.
