The latest addition to the
MSC Cruises fleet, MSC Fantasia has officially launched in Naples.
Described as a "breathtaking new flagship", the Fantasia was christened during a glittering ceremony, with Hollywood legend Sophia Loren cutting the ribbon.
The ship will also feature a Formula One simulator, which was officially opened by Grand Prix driver Jarno Trulli.
Commenting on the occasion, Pierfrancesco Vago, the cruise line's chief executive, said he was delighted to be christening the ship in the "extraordinary city of Naples".
"MSC Fantasia is not only a beautiful ship but also a triumph of environmentally-friendly design and technological innovation, where every step taken on board holds the promise of exciting new experiences," he added.
A spectacular show, featuring fireworks, dancing and musical performances, was also put on for the occasion.
MSC Fantasia will leave for her maiden voyage tomorrow (December 20th).
