MSC Cruises has provided an update on the progress of its four new ships which are currently being built in a shipyard in France.
According to
MSC Cruises, construction on new vessels
MSC Poesia and MSC Fantasia is at an "advanced" stage.
MSC Poesia is now almost ready for her christening, it is claimed, which is scheduled to take place on April 5th in Dover.
Meanwhile, MSC Fantasia is due to be christened later in the year in Naples in the month of December 2008.
"Now, with
MSC Poesia, we are offering a unique five-star product, lavishing special attention on our guest," commented Pierfrancesco Vago, chief executive officer of
MSC Cruises.
Once completed, the four new ships will boast between them 5,824 staterooms capable of accommodating 14,000 passengers.
The other two ships currently under construction are MSC Splendida, set to join the fleet in June 2009, and MSC Magnifica scheduled for completion in 2010.
