Marmalade sandwiches ahoy on Ocean Village and Ocean Village Two

Date Posted: 18 Apr 2008
Much-loved children's book and television character Paddington Bear is set to embark upon his travels once more as he prepares to sail with Ocean Village.

Paddington Bear first appeared in Britain in 1958 as he arrived at a London railway station having travelled from deepest Peru.

And now more than 50 years on, the classic character is to travel on Mediterranean cruises on Ocean Village and Ocean Village Two.

"With this exciting new addition we can offer families memorable experiences with not just one, but two of the most popular and enduring children's characters of all time. Mums and Dads have grown up with both Paddington and Bagpuss and children today still adore them," Gill Haynes, Head of Marketing Communications, stated.

Bagpuss has been cruising with Ocean Village for the past year.

She added that Paddington and Bagpuss would "delight" and "entertain" cruisers - who will be able to have photos and even tea with the cult icons - while demonstrating the cruise line's commitment to imaginative family-friendly holidays.

What our customers say

"I booked a Fred Olsen cruise with IGLU last month and was so impressed by the service I received. The staff member I spoke to was Kimberley and she was exemplary. Capable, kind, professional, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. She went through every step of the way calmly and thoroughly. IGLU were recommended to me by friends and I have no hesitation in passing the recommendation along. Well done IGLU and thank you. "

"So easy to deal with, I studied the Cruise I wanted, did my research with different company's and returned to Iglu. I had three quotes matching Iglu’s cost, but with one phone call they beat the price themselves by £40 without me even asking, how easy was that! "
