Royal Caribbean Cruises has announced the winners of its environmental awards.
Mariner of the Seas has been named Environmental Ship of the Year for the second time running, with its receipt of the award attributed to its 'can do' attitude and innovative culture.
Brilliance of the Seas, meanwhile, was given the Environmentally Innovative Ship of the Year accolade, with the judges citing a number of fuel efficiency initiatives and its handmade fuel filter cleaning system as evidence of its forward-looking approach to green cruising.
Celebrity Summit, meanwhile, was given both the Environmental Ship of the Year and Environmentally Innovative Ship of the Year awards in the Celebrity category.
Adam Goldstein, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Royal Caribbean Cruises, said: "Our ships share a common trait of striving to be the very best, especially in terms of environmental performance."
