Princess Cruises have voted Los Angeles the 2008 Port of the Year.
Each year, the cruise line awards the honour to one of its 33 turnaround ports throughout the world, based on the reported level of passenger satisfaction.
Dean Brown, executive vice president of corporate services at Princess Cruises, said it is important for passengers to enjoy their experience at turnaround ports as it is often the first or last impression of their holiday.
"Our service scores at the Port of Los Angeles have always been high, but we saw them increase last year and we offer them our congratulations and thanks," he commented.
Princess Cruises' other ports of call include Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska, Barcelona in Spain, Cornwall in England, Lima in Peru, New Orleans in the US and Easter Island in Chile.
