Island Cruises to offer Barbadian weddings in 2009

Date Posted: 18 Apr 2008
There has been a huge growth in the number of people choosing to get married abroad in recent months, Carol Richardson, a spokesperson for wedding specialist Confetti, said.

And according to Ms Richardson, the most popular destinations for these overseas nuptials are exotic locations such as Caribbean islands.

Now, couples wanting to exchange vows overseas will have the opportunity to combine their wedding with a luxury Caribbean cruise, after TravelMole revealed that Island Cruises is launching a Caribbean weddings programme in Barbados which includes onboard ceremonies, while land-based venues are available at a supplemental cost.

Sales director Leslie Peden described the developments as "welcome news".

A Mediterranean itinerary for summer 2009 has also been announced by Island Cruises which includes the new ports of call of Elba, Calvi, Cannes and Trapani in Sicily.

A fly-cruise itinerary called Mediterranean Splendour has also been published which includes calls to Naples, Civitavecchia, Elba, Calvi and Mahon and is aimed at previous customers.

What our customers say

"I booked a Fred Olsen cruise with IGLU last month and was so impressed by the service I received. The staff member I spoke to was Kimberley and she was exemplary. Capable, kind, professional, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. She went through every step of the way calmly and thoroughly. IGLU were recommended to me by friends and I have no hesitation in passing the recommendation along. Well done IGLU and thank you. "

"So easy to deal with, I studied the Cruise I wanted, did my research with different company's and returned to Iglu. I had three quotes matching Iglu’s cost, but with one phone call they beat the price themselves by £40 without me even asking, how easy was that! "
