"Innovation" and "imagination" are key concepts for new cruise liner Oasis of the Seas, as far as
Royal Caribbean Cruises is concerned.
The cruise ship is due to be launched in late 2009 and will pioneer
Royal Caribbean Cruises' "neighbourhood" model.
Additional neighbourhoods onboard Oasis of the Seas are said to include Boardwalk - an area for families that takes its inspiration from past seaside holidays. Features will include snack bars, shops and authentic carnival games with the focal point being a handcrafted carousel.
AquaTheater - an amphitheatre at sea - will feature a freshwater pool and will offer activities and performances for cruisers from Scuba lessons to synchronized swimming, water ballet and professional high-diving.
"With our history of introducing game-changing amenities, we're pleased to be able to answer the question of 'what could possibly come next?'" said Richard D Fain, chairman of the cruise line.
Central Park, is a neighbourhood that has already been announced by
Royal Caribbean Cruises and will feature Crystal Canopy sculptured glass domes.
