Holland America Line promise 'culinary excellence'

Holland America Line has announced plans to "raise the bar" when it comes to onboard dining, with the introduction of a new Culinary Training Programme for its employees.

The cruise line's shipboard culinary staff will spend three weeks at a training centre in the Philippines, where they will take part in an "immersion culinary course".

Commenting on the plans, Richard D Meadows, executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest programmes, said: "Our new culinary training programme in Manila will ensure that our culinary and beverage staff continues to raise the bar as we provide outstanding meals and service to our guests."

The cruise line is already renowned for the quality of its restaurants and dining room presentations, he added.

Established over 135 years ago, Holland America Line is one of the world's leading premium cruise providers and currently operates a fleet of 14 ships.
