Passengers travelling with
Holland America Line this year may find that what is on their dinner plate reflects their tantalising surroundings.
The cruise line is launching a series of menus that feature cuisine from locations visited by cruise ships in the Caribbean and Mexico.
Holland America Line passengers can look forward to coconut scallops in the Caribbean and chicken mole in Mexico.
"Part of the fun of travel is experiencing new cultures. By incorporating regional dishes, Chef Rudi has brought the excitement of visiting new destinations to the dining room," commented Richard D Meadows, Executive Vice-President of Marketing, Sales and Guest Programmes.
Dishes that travellers can expect to sample include chilli-rubbed tuna brochette, chilled West Indian lassi soup, mahi mahi with roasted corn salsa and plantains, guava stuffed chicken and Mexican tortilla soup with mushrooms.
Other culinary events organised by the cruise line include a master chef's dinner, a captain's dinner and an Indonesian lunch.
