Premium cruise provider
Holland America Line has announced plans to upgrade the entertainment facilities onboard five of its vessels.
The ms Statendam, ms Maasdam, ms Ryndam, ms Veendam and ms Rotterdam will all receive enhancements as part of the cruise line's $200 million Signature of Excellence programme.
Richard D Meadows, executive vice president of marketing, sales and guest programmes at Holland America Line, said the improvements would offer guests a wider choice of entertainment venues to choose from.
"The new musical offerings and entertainment initiatives are designed to be even more compelling and relevant to today's premium cruiser."
As part of the enhancement plans, the main show area on each of the ships will be adapted to resemble a "glamorous nightclub", with the cruise line also planning to invest in a number of new high-tech games systems.
Meanwhile, Holland America Line last week announced that its new 2010 Signature Class ship is to be named the ms Nieuw Amsterdam.
