Cruise holidays are experiencing a real "growth" in popularity, it has been reported.
According to the Telegraph, such trips were once seen as the preserve of the wealthier and more mature consumer, however, now they are gaining mass appeal.
Furthermore, the publication reports that 1.5 million Britons are expected to take cruise holidays in the coming 12 months.
Among the more popular cruises that holidaymakers choose to go on are
Mediterranean cruises, where passengers "[soak] up as much sun and sangria as possible during lazy days at sea".
However, while cruises are more accessible to the mainstream these days, those who wish to push the boat out can still opt for luxury cruises.
For example, the more traditional cruise line
Cunard Cruises operates more formal cruises which require a dress code to be adhered to for evening meals and offers leisure pursuits such as fencing, chess and deck quoits on its ship Queen Victoria.
