Cruise giant
Holland America Line has announced that it is to provide completely free parking near its San Diego terminal for its cruise passengers embarking on the many voyages run from the terminal.
Cruises from San Diego usually go to the sun-gilded locations of Mexico, Hawaii or Tahiti.
For many of the cruises, the parking has a value of almost $300 for the longer cruises, but passengers will instead pay absolutely zero, the cruise line has said.
One of the most popular cruises that
Holland America Line runs from San Diego is the Mexican Riviera cruise, in which passengers can spend either seven or ten days cruising the Pacific. The ships that sail this route are the opulent
Oosterdam,
Zaandam and
Ryndam, some of the most luxuriously appointed vessels in
Holland America Line'ssizeable fleet.
Or if cruisers want to really take advantage of the free parking offer, they could opt for the 30-day voyage to Hawaii on the beautiful Ryndam. Included in this voyage are jaunts to Nuku Hiva, Bora Bora, Tahiti and the French Polynesian resort island of Raiatea, which is internationally renowned for its natural beauty.
Holland America has 13 cruise ships in its fleet and runs 500 cruises from 25 home ports.
