The luxury cruise sector has been sent into a spin as excitement spreads around the world over the arrival of the largest cruise ship in the world.
Royal Caribbean Cruises'
Oasis of the Seas, which is currently sailing towards Miami from the Finnish shipyard where it was built, has broken virtually all records in the cruise sector.
Among those noting the arrival of the ship is World Records Academy, which has outlined the vessel's qualities including largest passenger capacity of up to 6,360 people and more than 2,000 crew members.
Other records include 16 decks, a height of 65 metres, greatest length and breadth as well as cost, making it not only the largest cruise ship, but also the most expensive.
The revolutionary vessel also features an open-air central park, which is a cruise ship first, boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, pool and sports zone, Vitality at Sea spa and fitness centre, entertainment place and youth zone.
In a comment published by Travel Mole, Robin Shaw, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line UK and Ireland vice-president and managing director, said the ship is "a good news story" for the cruise industry.
