A trip onboard a
Princess Cruises ship could be the ideal way for a travellers to brush up on their culinary credentials.
Passengers on the
Caribbean Princess can pay $75 each to dine at the chef's table and witness master chef Alfredo Marzi flambeing roasted tenderloin, veal and pork in cognac.
Mr Marzi claims that the culinary experience is a sell-out on each cruise.
He told the Boston Globe: "We have to make it special, to exceed our guests' expectations.
"It's one of the reasons our food costs [were] up 18-20 percent in 2008."
According to the newspaper, the Chef's Table programme consists of a champagne reception for as many as ten people, along with king crab cocktail and Bloody Mary sorbet. It is offered on most of Princess' ships.
The multicourse meal with paired wines then follows.
