Cruises offer exceptional value for money and demand will continue to grow in the long term, it has been suggested.
Penny Guy, a spokesperson for the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA), said there are plenty of excellent deals currently on the market and with 14 ships set to lunch this year, the prognosis is that holidays at sea will continue to increase in popularity.
"There's a lot of advertising going on at the moment and the value for money is exceptional in comparison with many other types of land-based holidays," she commented.
Many cruise lines have cut their prices dramatically and with the euro currently riding high against the pound, an all-inclusive cruise is also an excellent option for those looking to beat the exchange rate blues.
A report compiled by the PSA last year predicted that two million Brits will enjoy cruises every year by 2012.
