The majority of cruise holiday passengers want smoking to be completely banned on cruise ships, it has been claimed..
TravelMole reports that an online poll of 5,500 people by cruises.co.uk shows that 68 per cent of passengers would like to sail on
Caribbean cruises and
Mediterranean cruises in a totally smoke-free atmosphere.
Interestingly, the survey shows that passengers have a keen concern for the welfare of cruise ship staff and personnel, with 74 per cent of cruisers stating that smoking should be banned in bars order to preserve the health of workers.
"This research shows the apparent need for consistent smoking policies across all cruise operators so that confusion amongst passengers can be reduced," Sukie Rapal, Head of Marketing at the website which undertook the research, commented.
