Following the recent announcement by
Carnival Cruises that it is to provide onboard 'frightfully fun' activities on its vessels over the Halloween period,
Princess Cruises has now published its own series of creepy onshore excursions for the month of October.
Among the spooky locations cruise passengers onboard
Sea Princess,
Sapphire Princess,
Dawn Princess and
Crown Princess can visit over the Halloween month are mausoleums, 'haunted houses' and foreboding castles.
Cruisers onboard
Sea Princess will be able to visit the Tower of London - reputed to be haunted by the ghosts of the two princes held prisoner there, while passengers holidaying on the
Crown Princess can visit Belcourt Castle in Newport and perhaps spot the ghostly monk said to roam its grounds.
"These are the perfect experiences to put our passengers in the mood for the spookiest day of the year," commented Jan Swartz, Senior Vice President of Customer Service for Princess Cruises.
Meanwhile, sure to send shivers down the spine of passengers onboard
Princess Cruises'
Sun Princess will be a trip to Dunedin's North Cemetery in New Zealand - the final resting place of early New Zealand pioneers.
