Celebrity Cruises' latest vessel - the
Celebrity Solstice - left the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany yesterday and began its journey down the River Eems.
The 2,850-guest ship is now on its way to the Netherlands, where it will be berthed until October 24th while training and sea trials take place.
Celebrity Cruises' president and chief executive Dan Hanrahan commented: "Celebrity Solstice is the perfect manifestation of what the Celebrity brand is all about: extraordinary service, spectacular dining, and fabulous style and design."
Among other things, the Celebrity Solstice boasts an exclusive lawn club with "real, growing grass", ten restaurants, a state-of-the-art theatre and a number of larger staterooms.
The ship begins its maiden season on November 23rd, with a number of Caribbean cruises scheduled for the winter season.
Destinations currently served by the cruise line include the Panama Canal, Mexican Riviera and Hawaii.
