The Caribbean is one of the best destinations for Britons hoping to enjoy a cruise holiday, it has been claimed.
A recent report in the Telegraph noted that the Caribbean is a "cruising paradise" and one of the most competitive destinations, with a number of cruise lines serving the area, including
Royal Caribbean Cruises,
Princess Cruises and
Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Lynn Narraway, sales and marketing director for
Carnival Cruises in the UK and Ireland, told the publication that an increasing number of Britons were opting to take Caribbean cruises.
"One reason it is so popular is the sheer value for money. The cruise fares are such good value in November, December and January we can offer families a fly-cruise for less than it would cost them just to buy flights to Florida," she explained.
Countries commonly featured in Caribbean cruise itineraries include Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique and the Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile, a study by P&O Cruises has found that the cost of cruise holidays has dropped significantly over the last decade.
