My wife and I took a seven night cruise around the islands of Croatia on the MV Providenca, starting on 11th October. Although we have cruised many times, this was the smallest ship that we had ever slept on, so it was a bit of a novelty for us. We were impressed with the condition of the ship and our cabin (lower deck) was larger than we had expected: in fact the shower was roomier that many large cruise ships, and it had sliding doors rather than a plastic curtain! There are no lifts on board and plenty of stairs, so this would not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. There were only 32 passengers on board and we were looked after by 7 crew plus a Saga rep. All of the passengers were friendly and got on well with each other. There was an open bar from 11am until 10pm, with wine and beer available for lunch and dinner. The meals were pretty much a set menu, but with occasional choices in the evenings. Breakfasts were a mixture of cold meat and cheeses or bacon & eggs, with self service toast & cereals. We were very lucky with the weather as we had blue skies and sunshine every day, so we spent quite a lot of time on the sun deck and, on two days, the captain anchored in sheltered bays to allow us to swim off the back of the ship. The hot tub was not uncovered during this cruise. We were impressed with all of the ports of call and the towns were very pretty. There were three or four guided tours from the ship and these were included in the price. All of the sailing was undertaken during daylight hours, so there were always views of land from the decks. Being docked overnight, meant that there was no engine noise to keep you awake and, being on the lower deck, we opened the portholes at night rather than leaving the air-conditioning on. Overall, a great experience.

Ship was clean and well looked after. Food was not very good. There were 27 passengers and minimum food at breakfast and served cold. Lunch was set meal and a bit better but still not hot. Evening meal was always cold with no choice. Unfortunately we had bad weather the first three days and there was nothing to do. The rep did nothing to entertain us not even a quiz. There were long times on the boat between islands and not too much to do when we got there especially on the smaller islands. The bar closed exactly at 10pm and we were unable to purchase any drinks after that time. Lights out at 11 pm even if we were in the middle of a card game. There was a constant smell from the toilet in the cabin which was not very nice. The end of the holiday was a little bit better with a very nice evening on the last night with entertainment and dancing and a quiz from the rep. Still lights out by 11 pm! Overall not very good value for the money paid

Travelled June 2016. The boat was immaculate and kept spotless by a total crew of 7 including the Captain. Cabins were roomy and food very good. Itinerary was excellent as was Bobby the Saga Rep. Nothing was too much trouble. It was like living on a private yacht. One of the best holidays I have had , my only complaint it was only 7 nights .
