MSC Virtuosa Reviews
View Cruise DealsOverall it was very good. A few points MSC could improve on, such as the information provided about the entertainment, ports we were visiting etc. which we are used to getting with other cruise lines on the daily newspaper. Some of the bar service was not great and they ran out of stock at some of them, which was very poor for a 12 day cruise. They were very keen to get more money out of customers, and pushed things that were an extra cost continually. Charging for one of the shows was not good and as a result it was almost empty every night, the speciality restaurants were very expensive, on other ships you only need to pay a supplement to use them, not full price, and a very expensive price at that. All the shops were very expensive ones and nothing for people with budgets which could not afford them, again all other ships are great and catering for all budgets. On the positive the ship was lovely and one of the cleanest we have every been on - they were excellent on this front. The food was of a very high standard and the entertainment was excellent.
Hello, overall the cruise was fabulous, the ship is a master class of engineering and spotlessly clean, the staff are very polite and the buffet food was very good as I found the restaurant meals to be poor quality however the paid for restaurants were excellent. Unfortunately during the cruise the bars ran out of many drinks and both my partner and I found we had to change drinks frequently and search other bars to see if they stacked what was required. I did hear other passengers complaining of the same problem ( not known reason why). This would not stop me from cruising with IGLU again as the whole process from booking to cruising was a very smooth process
Overall this was an excellent cruise although marginally spoilt by the occasional delays in serving food in the dining room.
Ship beautiful, big and very clean. Lifts, public areas modern and clean. Cabins not as luxurious as P&O latest ships, bathroom on the small side for a cabin that could sleep 6 people. Food in MDR nice but some nights struggled to order something you fancied. Embarkation was a bit of a nightmare, no one there to tell you where to queue, only MSC staff visible where for the Yacht club passsengers.
Beautiful ship. The staff were excellent, well trained, very professional and so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, I have dietary needs and I was looked after so well. The cabin was spotless. The bathroom very well designed and the shower was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable. This was our second cruise on the ship and both cruises more than exceeded our expectations.
First of all, the ship and staff were first class. However, the additional on board cost, ie, drinks, excursions were excessive. Also, there appears to be no advantage in booking my cruise early. I spoke with numerous other passengers who only booked within the last few weeks, and who not only paid significanly less than me for the same standard cabin, they also got free parking and free drinks packages. I did not receive any of these. Also, the entertainment I experenced with P&O and Royal Caribbean was far superior.
This was our first cruise so didn’t know what to expect. The ship was absolutely extraordinary and massive and very luxurious. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. So MSC should be proud of them all. We went to most areas of the ship and booked for the specialty restaurants, we enjoyed most of them. We also booked for the spa and hairdresser which was a lovely relaxing experience. We didn’t go on any excursions due to mobility issues but if we knew we could get a golf cart we may have done. On the first day we went to the market place which was awful, not due to the food and staff but the rude pushing in people there, so was glad of the blue Danube for breakfast and lunches. The minnuto restaurant was lovely and the best thing we did was booking my choice, so we weren’t restricted to either a 6.30 or 9pm sitting. The masters of the sea and the sports bar need to have bigger TV’s as the ship was big on everything else except the tiny 28/32 inch screens . We tried to experience the whole ship and chose to go to different ares of the ship for sun loungers . Overall we had a great time, so thank you.
We really enjoyed our cruise from Dubai around the gulf. The food I must say was excellent, along with the staff on board. We upgraded to a suite cabin, but are still unsure if we should have done so, because really, all we used it for was to sleep in, but if you like more space it’s fine, and we did enjoy sitting on the balcony. We were disappointed that there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the cabin, we do like a tea or coffee when we wake up in the mornings. The pool area’s were well kept, and spotlessly clean, the problem we found though was, the days at sea when everybody wants to be around the pool areas, it got very, very busy. (Social distancing seemed to go out of the window). We have decided, cruising maybe isn’t for us.
We had a great time on this ship. Some of the staff were excellent. Others seemed ill-trained and not very competent or confident. The yacht club comes close to more expensive cruise options but just lacks a little consistency in staff selection and/or training. But this did not change our view that we would recommend the yacht club part of Virtuosa.
A fantastic experience which we booked at short notice. Had a great time with family and new friends. The facilities and accommodation on board were very good. As a first time cruiser I would do it again.
