MSC Divina Reviews
View Cruise DealsThe ship was stunning as expected. The dining room food was good (have had better) and the service was excellent. The buffet was very crowded but the choice of food was very good, with a wide choice, something for everyone. The evening shows were excellent every night, exceeding expectations. For the rest of the day there were lots of activities with a very enthusiastic entertainments team. Poolside was very crowded on sea days with people reserving beds before going for breakfast even though they were asked not to do so and it was not policed. There was a full age range of people on board with the children appearing to be well catered for. Formal/Gala nights were very enjoyable with many people dressing up in their finery and many opportunities to have professional photos taken. Our cabin was on deck 8. We overlooked the lifeboats located on deck 7 so deck 9 or higher would have been better. Overall a very enjoyable cruise.
Msc Divina - 07.02.15 - 18.02.15 First class service provided by Iglu & special thanks to Dennis Anderson & Tuptri. One could not fault the service given by MSC from the food presentation to the quality. Special mention for the theatre entertainment. Absolutely first class. Standing ovation on most nights. A thoroughly enjoyable cruise with MSC.
Just returned from a fabulous cruise on the Davina. Everything was first class from the decor, food, entertainment. We definitely will cruise again on this ship. Thank you for a wonderful week.
Having just returned from my 1st cruise I can honestly say that I would not book another MSC cruise. The ship was clean and glitzy, all the staff were overworked but mostly helpful, the food was average and could be better, buffet food was just warm under lights (I understand that catering for large quantities of people causes problems) all food was virtually the same daily, the restaurant menu just rotated each week. We had a premium drinks package but had to check the bill as we were charged for drinks, this was rectified when pointed out to reception. We booked an excursion on the last day to not be in the airport early, (6pm flight dropped off at 12.30 )we were literally dumped at the airport after the trip with no MSC staff. Overall not a holiday to be repeated with MSC.
This was our second cruise, two weeks over Christmas and New Year from Miami around the Caribbean on the MSC Divina. Our first cruise a year ago was aboard the Celebrity Century from Fort Lauderdale through the Panama Canal ending in San Diego, again over Christmas and the New Year. Whilst the Divina was a brand new ship, the service was definitely below that of the Century. Had the MSC Divina cruise been our first, we would probably have been very satisfied. But we were comparing it with the Celebrity Century and it fell a long way short. The food and menu selection were good but not as good as on the Century. There were hosts of little things that made the difference between good and excellent. For instance, every night when we returned to our Century cabin the sheets were turned down and chocolate was on the pillow. Not necessary but a nice touch. But not on the Divina. Since we were onboard over Christmas and New Year the Century made an extra fuss of us. Complimentary drinks and fancy hats, again not necessary. On the Divina you would hardly know it was a time of celebration, just another day. Having been on a Celebrity and MSC cruise, we would not chose another MSC cruise.
I have recently returned from a cruise (Sep 7) onboard MSC Divina of the Eastern Med. Whilst I have read both good and bad reviews on MSC cruises I would like to comment on the following items. Embarkation and Disembarkation - Total farce - Long drawn out and extremely stressful - had to que (Over an hour) to hand in luggage which I have never done on previous cruises. Food - What you would expect from an Italian cruise ship - Good but very little variety. Entertainment - Good - Same as most other cruise lines. Shops - Expensive as you would expect. Drink - Fully recommend the aggrissimo drinks package - Fantastic Package well worth it. Service - Very poor - Staff in the restaurant try hard but are very slow and inexperienced - Staff in the Buffet were rude and unhelpful Staff in the cabins were excellent. Ship - Ship itself was excellent - Clean and fantastic only the staff let it down. Adult only Solarium - Fantastic value. Pool - Staff will not enforce the 30 Min sunbed rule or adults only pool rules that they promote -- Staff very reticent to maintain order around the pool areas or serve above deck 14. The ship is shortly to proceed to the States for the winter. I only hope they iron out the problems or the American passengers will have a lot to complain about. I know I may have sounded a little down on this review but we had a fantastic cruise and as long as your expectations are that it is an Italian cruise ship and not a P & O , RCL or Celebrity then you will have a great time.
6 of us went on the Divina in June 2013 and what a wonderful 7 days did we have. The ship was lovely,we all had balconies and the cabins were spotless, cleaned twice a day an towels and bedding changed. We had the fine dining breakfast, lunch and dinner the food was very good and the waiters excellent, especially Antonia. We tried the buffet and we didn't like it, the food was good but there were too many people milling around trying to get a table. We didn't have a drinks packages but found drinks not too expensive. We sorted ourselves out for trips ashore and didn't have any problems. In fact this cruise from start to finish was superb the staff was all friendly and we as a family would like to say thank you to the Divina and all their staff for a wonderful cruise, we hope to do it again another year.
We have just returned from our cruise onboard the MSC Divina. Although the ship is beautiful, being almost new, it was extremely crowded, especially in the buffet with very rude Germans. They don't like queuing for food or lifts, they put towels on the sun beds 1st thing in the morning when they went off the boat, sometimes not returning until mid afternoon. The embarkation process, although was organised, it was extremely slow, and took us 1¼hrs to get on the ship. Disembarkation was excellent, and only took 10mins to get off. Food in the buffet was very good, but finding a table was frustrating. In the Black Crab Restaurant food was okay, but not as good as other cruises we have been on. It has a very large theatre, and it was never full, but the shows only lasted 40 mins, and it took 10 mins to introduce them in 6 different languages. Not the best shows we have seen. but there was plenty going on around the ship to compensate. The balcony cabin was very nice, and the steward very helpful. Some lovely stops, the best were Istanbul, and I would recommend the Land and Sea trip, it was 8hrs long, including lunch, and was excellent value, and Dubrovnik, we did the tour round the walls (on our own), that was superb, at £10 each, taking over 1½hrs. We tried the speciality restaurant Galaxy one night as it was our wedding anniversary. The food was lovely, very a la carte,. It cost us 70 euros for 3 courses (including a bottle of wine). It is on the 18th floor, with lovely views, and we saw some dolphins. so all in all a lovely experience, but not cheap.
Loved the MSC Divina would travel on this ship again, although the embarkation and disembarkation was a little unruly but patience is a virture. Missed our connection when we got off the boat so was a little disappointed to say the least. Staff on the ship were very good and the bars and entainment were excellent.
Excellent personal attention from IGLU Cruise. Flew into and cruised from Venice. MSC Divina was also excellent. Balcony cabin had plenty of room and room service was immaculate. Restaurants also very good - we changed to the 'Black Crab' which was superb from menu choices, food quality and service points of view. We found the shows captivating with excellent production and performance. Bars were also pretty good with the 'Black & White' bar our favourite. Recommend that the drinks package is purchased for those enjoying a few tipples during the day and evening. It's good value. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this cruise and will book another cruise with MSC via IGLU Cruise.
