Marella Explorer 2 Reviews
View Cruise DealsAll aspects of the cruise were excellent. Shows in the evening were of a high standard. The only negative point was the gym facility. Many of the machines were faulty. The air conditioning was so poor that working out in the afternoon was unpleasant.
Overall we had thoroughly enjoyable cruise. Staff excellent, the service the cabin boy Joel was excellent. Surf and Turf one extremely food waiter didn’t get name Floginda or something. Musical Due for excrlkent and entertainment staff worked hard Down side cabin tired, air con broken, safe broken.
SUPER CRUIE We selected this cruise from Palma because it was short direct flight and visited interesting places in the Mediterranean. Flights and disembarkation at Palma went smoothly but checking in at the cruise terminal was slow and poorly organised. We were very impressed with our twin-bedded cabin, spacious shower room and voluminous storage, the quality of the fittings and furnishings, the space and quick lifts. All the crew we met were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Eating was a delight with open dining in six restaurants and three a la carte which cost extra. Ten bars, one a pub and a coffee shop completed the arrangements. The talented Explorer 2 Show Team produced a number of top class shows in the Broadway Show Lounge that would rival any produced in the West End. Pampering was available at Champney’s Spa a new venture. We visited three Countries, five towns and could either walk in or take an inexpensive shuttle bus to enjoy them. There were lots of excursions to places like Pisa, Florence, Genoa and St Tropez and lots of room for sunbathing. Departing the ship was an ordeal because of poor organisation. An enjoyable cruise, a top-class ship, fine food and drink and an outstanding crew. And the bonus adults only.
Amazing higher class ship , enjoyed my Easter cruise with my mother , it was her first trip and she was blown away with the high standards of service, cleanliness and a wonderful professional team . Our cabin flooded the first night as we returned after the sale away party , we had to be moved to a much smaller cabin for 2 nights , the shower flooded causing a lot of damage and on the 3rd day the carpet was exchanged, all if this caused upset to myself and elderly mother. Once the team came to visit the cabin after 3 late night calls for help ,they did put an action plan in place and we were cared for m i believe lessons were learnt from the reception team , housekeeping were amazing. It was a poor start to our special holiday, but we did have a magical time , the Broadway shows and choice of restaurant and bars are outstanding. Do check the required fitness levels for tours as Rome was mis sold to me , still an amazing adventure, staff very skilled . Highly recommend this ship and tui.
6 - Having only been on P&O cruises we wondered if we were going to find the same standards. We needn’t have worried as everything was top class- cabins were well laid out, the food was excellent and the entertainment of a very high standard. The crew and waiters etc were more than lovely. Destinations and tours were different and the whole process from airport to ship and back went like clock work.
Excellent week cruising My first cruise and I wasn’t disappointed Staff friendly and professional, Cabin was very clean with plenty of storage space . Plenty of food choice . Good value for money. Security excellent
I have just been on my first cruise with my partner and did not know what to expect. IT WAS FANTASTIC ! The ship was beautiful. The cabin was lovely. We had one with a balcony and was surprised how roomy it was. The bed was very comfy. Plenty of storage. Everywhere was decorated to a very high standard. It was a cashless boat, which I really liked once I got used to it. Everything was inclusive including the tips. There were plenty of places to eat and the food was delicious. I loved the Shack on the pool deck, where you could grab a salad or wrap out of the fridge and sit and sunbathe or take it out on a trip with you. I thought that everything was extremely well organised. From transfers to the boat and to the hotel afterwards. trips were verywell organised. I loved the navigation app that you could use on the TV or on your phone, that helped you to book meals, trips or view your account. The theatre was beautiful. I did not expect it to be so big. The entertainment was first class. Those singers and dancers were spectacular. There was so much I loved. What made the trip so enjoyable though was all the staff. They were amazing. Everyone looked so smart. Everyone greeted you with a smile wherever you went. I loved Roberto and his team who looked after our room on deck 9. He was so friendly. We always came back to a lovely clean room. The customer care on this ship is excellent and no matter how lovely it looks, without those staff it would not work. I can honestly say I had the time of my life, and will definitely be looking to book again. Carol Polnyj
We were on the 'Maiden voyage' and it was amazing, as usual all the staff were so helpful, and really cheerful. Special mention to Marina, Alexandra, Marjeta and Farid at the Aperitif Bar. Also the Restaurant Gus, Patel, and Everest, Juan That is just a few of the very lovely people who made our holiday more enjoyable. The entertainment was excellent, the team and also the special guests,
Fantastic staff, great food. Modern ship, lovely decor, lots to do on board. Great range of drinks! Will definitely be returning.
MEDITERRANEAN MEDLEY EXCELLENT CRUISE 9 – 16 APRIL We wanted a cruise that visited interesting places in the Mediterranean and was only a short direct flight from home. This was all inclusive and adults only. We flew from East Midlands to Palma and all arrangements went smoothly until check-in at the cruise terminal where things were slow. Our week was the second weeks cruise since the ship was refurbished and relaunched on 2 April 2019. The cabin was about 16 m2 with a good-sized picture window. Twin beds, a huge amount of storage in three wardrobes, drawers, cupboards and bedside cabinets. A spacious shower room with good fittings and lots of lovely soft towels. We had a safe, mini bar and fridge and refreshments topped up twice daily. The TV had its own TUI channel with information about the ship, excursions and what was going on. The quality of furniture and fittings were top class, corridors spacious and lifts fast. We had a choice of nine restaurants, six freedom dining and three of which were a la carte and cost extra. Without exception the food was fresh, tasty and hot. Drinks came from 10 bars one a pub with lots of staff circulating to top up your glass. The Market Place restaurant had a self-service bar for wines and beer. The evening shows were top class with superb singers and dancers and innovative staging. There were lots of activities during the day and evenings and a casino. Pampering was available at Champney’s Spa a new venture. We visited three Countries, five towns and could either walk in or take an inexpensive shuttle bus to enjoy them. There were lots of excursions to Genoa, Pisa, Florence, and St Tropez and lots of room for sunbathing. The weather was cool in the morning and evenings with a half day of rain and a breezy day at sea but we did get a tan. All the staff we met were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Leaving the ship for our return home was very poorly organised. An enjoyable cruise, a top-class ship, fine food and drink and an outstanding crew.
