Tui have really got their act together. They are well organised from start to finish. There is no hassle or worries because everything is done for you.Good flights, transfers and check in at the port. Entertainment on the ship was very good, with various types of shows in the theatre and some great bands and musicians in the lounge bars. Food on board the ship is of a high standard with a good selection dishes The staff are all very friendly and helpful. From cabin staff right up to the Captain Who has a GREAT sense Humour. Overall this was a really nice cruise and would recommend Marella (Tui) cruises to friends and family.------------One downside was Corfu airport Check in is a nightmare Greeks to blame for that

Stengths : Crew really friendly and attentive. Have to say a big thank you to Lynne the customer relations manager on board, she is excellent. Entertainment first class, varied and high quality. Ship better than any previous Tui/Thomson ship we have sailed on. Weaknesess Hand sanitizer kept running out with no immediate replenishment. Loss of luggage on arrival, still in Manchester. Corfu airport on departure disorganised, no Tui/Thomson management present. Queuing outside airport for over an hour in sunshiane without moving. Many angry passengers were vowing never to use Tui anymore. Sadly we agree.

Booked this holiday with apprehension, as the 19 day holiday with Tui (not Thomson) was far cheaper than other cruise lines and included all drinks and tips. Excellent Tui flight from Gatwick to Barbados. Luggage checked in the night before at Gatwick and not seen again until we boarded the ship. Transported from plane onto coaches and driven to the Dock, where Marella Discovery awaited. 10 min check in and we could board. Ship is an ex Celebrity one, refurbished in the main areas 1 yr ago. Had a cabin on lowest deck 4, as we were crossing the Atlantic and it might become rough seas. (turns out it was so calm!). Despite adverse reports on this ship. All the staff were friendly and polite ( despite no tipping!) Plenty of sunbeds. Plenty of places to sunbathe. Plenty of staff to serve endless drinks if you wanted them. Food in main restaurant and Market Place self service was good, but if you want big steaks/lobster then you have to pay the price and visit the speciality restaurants at £30 each. They have two Chic nights (turned out to be 3) on the cruise and despite reports about people wandering around in shorts/tshirts in the evenings. Many people had DJ's and ladies lovely outfits. Maybe it was due to being a longer cruise and adult only. Calls at the Caribbean island were good, then 5 days sailing to two islands of the Azores, also good, then two more days sailing to 3 French ports - not so good. Brest was attractive, but they could have skipped Cherbourg & Le Harvre. However, many people living in the North of the UK had never been to France, so probably found it interesting. There also happened to be a 3-day dock strike in Le Harvre, complete with tyre burning and the ship couldn't unload supplies, having to divert them to our last port of call, Zeebrugge, where we took a trip to Ghent. We then went backwards to Southampton, a bit odd, where we disembarked, but the ship carried on to the final destination of Newcastle. Would look at travelling with them and to not believing everything we read on TripAdvisor! Entertainment was fairly average, with a couple of brilliant exceptions and, obviously, there were no guest speakers during the days crossing the Atlantic - You get what you pay for, which is good value. Many of our fellow passengers had only travelled with Thomson (now Tui). By the way, you ask on your front page "Did you book another cruise whilst on board the ship"? This is a sore point. The sales office (on other ships so busy) was deserted. The two sales girls had no brochures! She said it was too expensive to use the internet to look at Tui cruises on line, but we could borrow the 1 copy of their brochure for a couple of hours!!! (we didn't book anything, but not for the want of trying)
