This was our first holiday with Saga and we were slightly worried that it we wouldn't fit in. However, what a lovely bunch of people they were and all ages from mid 50s to late 80's. Our representative Hassan met us at the airport and escorted us on every trip. Nothing was a problem for him. Our Egyptologist for the duration was Nabile who was a mind of information. He explained everything clearly and all questions were answered. He specialised in hyrogliphics and explained what they meant. The Livingstone was a lovely ship and was never busy. The guests were not all from Saga either which was a surprise with parties from US and then Japan and Canada. The food suited most tastes from plain food to hot and spicy although the food was not always very hot as it was a buffet. They always had 2 soups on offer for lunch and dinner which was surprising. Unfortunately it was so hot outside that we didn't use the very small pool on the top deck. Even sitting in the shade was too hot 45 degrees, and after an early morning start we were happy to stay in our room or the lounge/bar area. The tea and coffee were basic Liptons and Nescafe but were plentiful. Bottled water was always available too. All inside areas were air conditioned so perfect to sit in the library and watch the world go bye. All bedrooms had large picture windows and the rooms were kept very clean. The bathroom floor was wooden and as everyone commented, it squeeked when you walked on it. You couldn't walk quietly at night in there. WIFI is free however it is so slow and not worth using most of the time. We did find when sailing it got a little better but don't rely on it and it was limited to reception and the bar. Overall it was a wonderful experience with fantastic staff and made all the better by having our own rep and Egyptologist staying with us too.
