The one thing I found a problem was the buffet food was not organised/setup in order i. e. , breakfast was first taken then had to queue in another line for toast or sides to go with a full breakfast.
Things were randomly put with different foods and you would have to look for items and could miss things. It was a problem for vegetarians etc. as meat dishes would be put with main vegetarian food. Although there was a very good variety of food.
Cleanliness was very good hand washing machines on entry, staff very friendly and helpful. Aariya in the Tamarind restaurant waited us, excellent service always smiling and helping with telling us whet the dishes were so we knew exactly what we were ordering. We had a pleasant evening at the restaurant, the food was delicious compliments to the chef as he made it to how we wanted it.
Bakrie & Hakim who cleaned our rooms, very friendly and it was nice to come back to a very clean room and their towel sculptures :) were well appreciated. Thank you both.
Lack of communication for our trip that was cancelled on the day and we were not informed. Luckily, we found out an hour before we were going to set off to the meeting point. We then booked another trip rather than waste a day.
Bad experience with the SPA on the ship. We booked for a ladies evening spa session and were told we would receive a mini facial, mini massage and eye treatment and we could use the facilities for the 2 hours we were booked in for. On arrival we were told we do our own facial??? and we could not use all the facilities, very disappointing ruined our evening. The SPA needs to have a uniformed approach so all staff are aware what is included in the package they are selling.
The exercise activities were to early needed to have more activities during the day ie Yoga and had to pay for some activities where on other cruise lines these are free and more frequent.
Overall, a pleasant experience on the ship, and yes, we would travel with them again for the right trip.Read More

Koningsdam was smaller than other ships we have sailed on but it never felt small. There were several dining venues and also several bars.
Entertainment centres on the bars where there is music on all evening. There is also a “main act” in the World Stage each evening.
The food choices were varied and tasty.
Cabins were clean and functional, we had an inside cabin and there was plenty of space for 2 of us. The cabin staff seemed to work almost round the clock and were friendly and helpful.
Holland America have been cruising to Alaska longer than any other company so get priority docking so we were always docked closer to port than any other cruise ship.
I would highly recommend cruising to Alaska on Koningsdam.Read More
