National Parks Explorer SELF DRIVE Land Tour

National Parks Explorer Self Drive Tour

You might consider adding pre/post nights to your National Parks Itinerary before joining your cruise or your return to the UK.

Day 1 of Land Tour – Las Vegas

Arrive in Las Vegas, pick up your rental car, and proceed to your hotel in the glittering "Entertainment Capital of the World". Las Vegas has something for everyone: shopping, dining, world-class entertainment, casinos and spas.

Day 2 of Land Tour – Las Vegas – Zion

Leave the man-made wonder of Las Vegas and travel through the desert to the Colorado Plateau and the natural wonders of the National Parks. Travel through St. George and the charming town of Springdale before arriving at Zion National Park. You have a full afternoon to explore this magnificent park with its amazing canyons. There are trails to explore for every ability level.

Day 3 of Land Tour – Zion – Bryce Canyon

Travel to central Utah and visit the majestic hoodoos of Bryce Canyon. Nature's artistry has created rocks in various shades of red, formed by erosion into pinnacles and spires, even more stunning against the blue skies of the area. You may want to explore the canyon by walking or by horseback.

Day 4 of Land Tour – Bryce Canyon – Lake Powell/Page

In the morning, make sure to view the dazzling display of colour and light of the sunrise at Bryce Point. The sun rising above the canyon ignites the red rock spires turning them into an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colour. Continue south through Utah, passing through the charming western town of Kanab where many cowboy films have been made. Later, arrive in Page and visit the Glen Canyon Dam and magnificent Lake Powell with its crystal blue waters. In the afternoon or evening you may want to take a cruise on Lake Powell.

Day 5 of Land Tour – Lake Powell/Page – Grand Canyon National Park

This morning, you may want to take the time to take a guided tour of the slot canyons of Antelope Canyon before heading to the Grand Canyon. These canyons are known for their varying colour of sandstone and are a photographer's dream. It is a short drive to the Grand Canyon, one of the natural wonders of the world. Spend your time walking along the rim of the canyon, participating in a ranger led talk or maybe take an optional helicopter flight above the canyon.

Day 6 of Land Tour – Grand Canyon National Park

Experience a full day at the Grand Canyon to explore at your pace. The visitors centre is the perfect place to start the day where experienced Park Rangers can suggest hikes, view points and activities.

Day 7 of Land Tour – Grand Canyon – Sedona

Leave the Grand Canyon and travel via Oak Creek canyon and Flagstaff to the town of Sedona.

Day 8 of Land Tour – Sedona – Route 66 – Lake Havasu

Leave Sedona and head west, traveling over some of the original Route 66 if you wish. A great stop is in the town of Seligman. Evidence of the old road can be seen all along Seligman's main street where motels, cafes and numerous Route 66 gift shops beg to be explored. Continue to another piece of history, Lake Havasu, home to the original London Bridge.

Day 9 of Land Tour – Lake Havasu – Las Vegas

Return to Las Vegas for one final night of fun and excitement before your onward or return journey the next day. Day 10 of Land Tour – Las Vegas Return your rental car before transferring to the airport for your onward flights or return to the UK.

Hawaii Christmas and New year. This was our 4th cruise with Princess, our first on Grand Princess. The standard of service from the staff was up to its usual excellent quality. Grand Princess is however looking and feeling rather tired in many areas. There was a greater level of rust visible around many of the outdoor areas. We had a mini suite D620. It is a lovely sized room with a very comfortable bed, and I highly recommend the upgrade from a balcony room. There were a few tiles which had lifted below the toilet and the patio door onto the balcony was almost impossible to open it was so stiff; the handle was hanging off. That was however eventually resolved but left the door draughty. The sofa had what appeared to be a small burn mark and the interior furniture was chipped in places. This may sound rather negative but is simply factual and in no way detracted from us having a great cruise holiday with Princess. We did notice an increase in the bar prices (not helped by the strength of the dollar of course compared to GBP) and felt that the dress code in the formal dining areas was far more casual than our previous experiences, tracksuit trousers or jeans being common place.

The room was very small and the ship needs some TLC I noticed quite a few leaks throughout. The quarantine procedure they have in place is ridiculous as they still allow you to stay with your family and only restrict the ill person from going out so the family could still be spreading the germs it doesn’t make sense!! My child was not allowed in any of the pools as he is only 18 months old and not yet potty trained we had swimming diapers but he was still not allowed I thought that was very unfair! also it was our honeymoon so wanted to spend some family time together and were only allowed one parent to supervise at a time in the tree house (childs play area) so one of us was left by ourselves for a few hours a day! I thought that was unfair too! the drinks packages are not worth doing a total ripoff! On the other hand the staff in the tree house and dining rooms were very helpful and pleasant and a few of the bar staff were also lovely. The beds were really comfortable and the food was good so it wasn’t a all bad.
