Day 2 of Land Tour – Los Angeles – The O.C – Palm Springs – Phoenix

Today your journey begins and takes you through Palm Springs, the winter playground for Hollywood royalty, with its lively downtown and immaculately kept golf courses at the base of the rugged San Jacinto Mountains. Pass the sea of wind turbines that mark the entrance to this desert oasis. Afterwards you will pass through Indio, home to the International Date Festival in the Coachella Valley.

Day 3 of Land Tour – Phoenix – Sedona – Grand Canyon National Park

Travel through the Sonoran Desert, the richest, most biologically diverse desert ecosystem in the Americas. Continue to Sedona, a city situated in a unique geological area and encircled by distinctive red-rock monoliths with such names as Cathedral and Coffee Pot. Then drive through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon before arriving at the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven wonders of the Natural World. Stop at the rim to fully experience this mile-deep colourful canyon's plunging gorges, and rising spires formed by the mighty Colorado River.

Day 4 of Land Tour – Grand Canyon – Monument Valley – Page/Lake Powell

Today, enter the Navajo Indian Reservation, passing the Cameron Trading Post. Continue through the Painted Desert to visit Monument Valley, an area that embodies perhaps the most iconic images of the American West. In the late afternoon, enter the town of Page, situated on a mesa above the Colorado River. This evening is at leisure.

Day 5 of Land Tour – Page/Lake Powell – Kanab – Bryce Canyon

Visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam, the second highest concrete-arch dam in America. From here you'll enjoy views of stunning Lake Powell, where crystal blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls. Enter the Mormon state of Utah, pass through the town of Kanab before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon, where a tour through a multi-coloured world of sandstone spires and pinnacles will dazzle the eye. Day 6 of Land Tour – Bryce Canyon National Park – Zion National Park – Las Vegas

This morning travel to Zion National Park and see the massive rock formations carved by wind, time and the Virgin River Valley. This afternoon experience the contrast of Las Vegas, the dazzling "Entertainment Capital of the World," where round-the-clock shopping, nightly shows, and of course gambling are available.

Day 7 of Land Tour – Las Vegas

Today is at leisure for you to enjoy the many attractions that Las Vegas has to offer. In addition to world-class shopping, bustling casinos and Broadway style shows, you might simply stroll the famous Strip taking in its amazing sights, or "shop 'til you drop" at designer outlets.

Stop at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch before continuing across the valley and ascending the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes**. The area gained prominence as the gold mining town in the 19th century and today is renowned for the superior skiing terrain and staggeringly beautiful mountain vistas.

**Winter Routing. The Tioga Pass may be closed due to weather or road conditions, in which case you will overnight in Fresno or Visalia and a visit to Mammoth Lakes will not be possible (winter routing applies to all departures between October and May under normal snow conditions).

Why not join an optional seasonal scenic gondola ride to the summit of Mammoth? Next, see theTioga Pass** into the scenic wonderland of Yosemite National Park. Here, you will experience the valley floor and its splendours including the glacial-shaped granite formations of El Capitan, Half Dome, the magnificent Bridal Falls and Yosemite Falls. Hawaii Christmas and New year. This was our 4th cruise with Princess, our first on Grand Princess. The standard of service from the staff was up to its usual excellent quality. Grand Princess is however looking and feeling rather tired in many areas. There was a greater level of rust visible around many of the outdoor areas. We had a mini suite D620. It is a lovely sized room with a very comfortable bed, and I highly recommend the upgrade from a balcony room. There were a few tiles which had lifted below the toilet and the patio door onto the balcony was almost impossible to open it was so stiff; the handle was hanging off. That was however eventually resolved but left the door draughty. The sofa had what appeared to be a small burn mark and the interior furniture was chipped in places. This may sound rather negative but is simply factual and in no way detracted from us having a great cruise holiday with Princess. We did notice an increase in the bar prices (not helped by the strength of the dollar of course compared to GBP) and felt that the dress code in the formal dining areas was far more casual than our previous experiences, tracksuit trousers or jeans being common place.

The room was very small and the ship needs some TLC I noticed quite a few leaks throughout. The quarantine procedure they have in place is ridiculous as they still allow you to stay with your family and only restrict the ill person from going out so the family could still be spreading the germs it doesn’t make sense!! My child was not allowed in any of the pools as he is only 18 months old and not yet potty trained we had swimming diapers but he was still not allowed I thought that was very unfair! also it was our honeymoon so wanted to spend some family time together and were only allowed one parent to supervise at a time in the tree house (childs play area) so one of us was left by ourselves for a few hours a day! I thought that was unfair too! the drinks packages are not worth doing a total ripoff! On the other hand the staff in the tree house and dining rooms were very helpful and pleasant and a few of the bar staff were also lovely. The beds were really comfortable and the food was good so it wasn’t a all bad.
