  • Mecca Brown Bear Cruise Tour - After meeting your guide in the lobby, walk to the pier to enjoy the cruise tour with 2 hours of cruising where you will be looking for Brown Bears. Towards early Autumn is when the salmon and trout swim upstream, attracting the bears to look for food. This cruise takes place on the 'Rusha' course which is known to be one of the more likely places to spot the elusive bears, however please note as the animals are wild no sightings can ever be guaranteed.
  • Shiretoko Five Lakes Hiking Trail - After a 10 minute safety talk you will enjoy a walk around the lakes. These lakes were created by volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago and are haven for wildlife, making it a great spot for a relaxing walk. You may spot Ezo deer or red foxes amongst other wildlife. It is an ideal place for nature lovers.
  • Furepe Falls - Take a walk to the Furepe Waterfall Promenade to take in all the different scenery on offer, including forests, coastal areas and grasslands. You can also observe Furepe Falls trickling down to the sea from the observatory. It is unique as there is no river feeding into the falls, instead it flows from groundwater escaping the cliffs. It is sometimes known as 'Maiden's Tears' because of the way the water falls. There is also a possibility to observe Brown Bears, but predominantly this is a stunning area of beautiful scenery.
  • Whale, Dolphin & Bird Watching Cruise - After meeting your guide in the lobby you will travel to Rausu to enjoy your cruise. During this 2.5 hour cruise you will be on the lookout for the impressive Sperm Whales & Dall's Porpoise (August is the best season to see them). Sperm Whales can be between 49 to 59 feet in length (bigger than a bus) and weigh in at 35 to 45 tonnes. They like to travel in pods made up of 15 - 20 whales and these groups can include babies. It is also possible to see a lone male. They can hold their breath for up to 90 minutes in order to dive deep in search of squid.
