Cruises from Dublin

As well as being a popular cruise destination in its own right, Dublin also serves as a fantastic departure port, with Celebrity Eclipse home porting at the famous Alexandra Quay right at the mouth of the River Liffey. Cruises from Dublin usually sail around the British Isles as well as heading north west to Iceland and east to take in the amazing Norwegian Fjords.

Dublin Cruise Port

The main port for cruises for Dublin is Alexandra Quay, but it’s also possible to embark and disembark at Samuel Beckett Bridge if on a smaller ship. Dublin cruise port should also not be confused with Dún Laoghaire cruise port 5 miles to the north of the city, as this is a tender port for tourists coming ashore for the day. Alexandra Quay is easily accessible by public transport, with bus routes and the Luas stopping right by the dock, while the airport is only ten minutes away. If driving yourself, you’ll find both ample long and short-stay parking.

What to do

Either side of your cruise, Dublin has plenty of famous places to see before you head back home, such as Kilmainham Goal, the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College, Dublin Castle and Temple Bar.
