Before embarking, guests must have completed an online health questionnaire, and when boarding have their temperature taken. In addition, luggage handles will be sanitised before being taken to staterooms.
Onboard and Ashore
To ensure social distancing onboard, ship capacity will be reduced and there will no longer be self-service buffets, with guests being required to wear face masks in public areas. These measures will continue ashore with smaller excursion groups and technology allowing guests to listen to tour guides from a distance. Frequent hand washing will be made easy with more hand sanitiser stations, and hand sanitising required before and after shore excursions.
Increased onboard cleaning includes more frequent cleaning of public areas, particularly surfaces which are often touched, as well as sanitation of equipment such as bikes and fitness mats, twice daily stateroom cleaning and deep cleaning of the ship after each cruise, all using hospital-grade disinfectants. Coaches will also be cleaned before and after shore excursions. In addition, thanks to state-of-the-art air conditioning, air onboard each ship will be fresh and clean, with no recirculating.
Before boarding, crew must have a medical certificate and undergo COVID-19 testing. When on a cruise, they will have twice daily temperature checks, must wear face masks when working, and maintain social distancing in crew areas. To ensure that high levels of hygiene are met, crew will take part in additional training, and there will be a Public Health Officer on each ship.
