Brilliance of the Seas Reviews
View Cruise DealsWent on the Brilliance of the seas after its revitalization. Excellent experience. Food -- the food was great everywhere -- A big variety of specialies restarurants as well. I had freshly prepared omelettes in the the mornings with bacon, banana pancakes, yogurt, fruit, etc. and everything was delicious. For lunch, we ate sandwiches, onion rings, burgers, etc. at the Seaview Cafe or sandwiches and salads from the Solariam Cafe -- both were good. The Windjammer buffet was equally as good. We had dinner in the Dining Room and it was very good. Ship -- The ship is completely revitiled, new carpets, very nice and clean. It's not too big so you can go from your room to the pool or dining room without leaving half an hour early! Entertainment -- I only saw parts of a few shows and they are on par with most ships. Summary -- Overall, I found the cruise to be very relaxing and the itinerary towards the Fjords is simply fantastic.
Just got back from a trip on the revitalised Brilliance of the Seas. Royal Caribbean have done a fantatstic job of making this ship seem brand new again. My favourite things were the Japanes restaurnat Izumi which had superb fresh seafood (try the Octopus), The Sky Lounge for a great view of the outdoor Screen, and the Solarium kids free zone. The best Solarium zone I have seen on a Caribbean ship yet. Finally, don't miss out on the Margeritas at Ritas at the stern of the ship. Viva Ritas.
May 2013 We joined the ship for a 1 night preview sailing following the refit, and we were not disappointed. The ship is beautiful and exudes an air of sophistication. Unlike the larger classes of the Royal Caribbean fleet, this ship does not have the central promenade running through the middle of it, instead there is a central atrium rising up to a dome many floors above. This looked stunning just as it was, but that is not enough for Royal Caribbean who will be using this area to produce fantastic acrobatic and trapezium displays. The way they have planned the observation points around this on every deck means you will never be too far away from view whenever one of the displays commences. This is just as well, as to keep a feeling of spontaneity they will not be publicising these events in the daily log, but instead will just announce it shortly beforehand both on the ships address system and on the ships tv channels - so keep an eye out for them. At other times they will gather people at the bottom of this and put on various demonstrations on how to achieve many of the things you will see daily whilst on board such as ice sculptures and towels folded into cute animals. Another new feature to be added is a 220 sq ft outdoor movie screen up on the pool deck. As well as showing movies here they will also feature all the major sporting events - so now all the men have no excuse to saying no to a cruise for fear of missing a football final or the last grand prix of a season, and the women will be able to go shopping in the duty free shops or indulge in a spa treatment whilst they watch these events - everyones a winner! As you can imagine being in Harwich for this visit, the weather was less than favouarable, so the thought of being able to lie on a sun lounger outdoors and be brought a blanket and cups of hot chocolate whilst watching a movie was really appealing. Obviously if you are lucky enough to experience this in warmer climates then a pina colada or glass of cool beer would be as equally welcome. I could go on all day about the enhancements they have made, the wonderful dining options, the comfortable cabin accommodations, the childrens facilities and much more.
I went on Brilliance of the Seas for my 50th birthday The itinerary was fabulous Dubai, Fujairah , Abu Dhabi, Muscat . The ship is stunning. First class service. Food is excellent. Entertainment amazing. I am planning to go back for my partners birthday in July. Can't wait!!! Thank you to all staff on Brilliance of the Seas. Outstanding.
We sailed on Brilliance of The Seas June 2010 and will be returning this year July 2012. Fabulous ship fabulous staff we had an amazing holiday. Have to give a special mention to our waiter Dorma in the dining room he was exceptional and we would love to meet him again. We are travelling to the Norweigan Fiords this year do any fellow cruisers have any helpful hints for us re trips etc and what sort of clothing needed for July.
We just came back from this amazing Cruise. The itinerary was great - Dubai, Fujairah , Abu Dhabi, Muscat . The ship is really nice, service is excellent. Food is very good and many choices for everyone. It was a cruise of a life time ! Mr & Mrs. Micheva London UK
Returned from a cruise from Dubai earlier this month. We really like this size of ship and there was plenty of space, lots of areas to eat outside and never a shortage of sunbeds (although I understand she wasn't full). Thought the decor looked a little tired and the cabin (balcony) was very small compared to other ships we haved been on. Excellent service in the "Anytime" restaurant and would particularly recommend "Chops Grill" - fabulous steaks and the Chef came out and spoke to every guest which was very much appreciated. Entertainment - tribute acts for Elton John and Frankie Valley were excellent but the commedian/magic act very poor I'm afraid.
Just back from 7 nights cruise of United Arab Emirates on Brilliance of the Seas. Excellent ship with plenty facilities to suit everyone's taste/requirement. Many bars and eating areas. Large theatre, but we found the shows too "Americanised" with no actual variety shows. Very talented people though. Plenty entertainment going on. Sports facilities very good. Drinks very expensive, not allowed to have own alcohol in cabin even though it could be purchased from ship's duty free shop. This is the first time we have ever encountered this (not been with Royal Caribbean before). On top of drinks bill there is a 15% service charge, so be warned - expensive on board. We pre-paid gratuities, and were then issued with vouchers clearly marked for Head Waiter, Waiter, Asst Waiter and Cabin Person - which meant we could not allocate just what we felt we wanted, i.e. only saw Head Waiter once but had to give him the allocation or bin it! Photographs being taken everywhere, as is usual on these ships, but the price was extortionate. $19.95 for 1 picture, and $9.95 for the little ones taken as you go on and off ship.
done 13 cruises now different ships ,thought brilliance was a lovely clean ship crew helpful and plenty of good food. wasnt happy at the gratuities stopped me drinking to much. my biggest gripe was life boat drill we didnt need our life jackets how stupid, a lot of people were 1st timers and really needed to know how they were worn.
We found the Brilliance of the Seas to be a beautiful ship. Water views everywhere. The Champagne bar is my wife's favorite with spectacular views out a wall of glass. The food of the steakhouse was of high quality. The service was the best part, the waiter and waitress in the dining room, cabin and even bartender were the most friendly I have seen. Going back to the ship itself, there are a lot of cozy areas to chill out and enjoy some quite time, or ocean and sea gazing. There is a bank of elevators that overlook the ocean which my wife find it breathtaking sight. This was a wonderful cruise and one we will long remember.
