5th April 2018

Considering the fantastic service and onboard features that Princess Cruises offer all their guests, we were curious about just how much could be enhanced for those who opt for a suite. After looking at all the extras included, it’s fair to say that suite guests are treated to some really special indulgences, all of which help to create an incredible and unforgettable cruise holiday. Here are our top ten reasons to book a Princess Suite.

1. The extra space – with up to 932 square feet to a suite, guests even have enough space to host a private evening cocktail party with family and new friends.

2. Complimentary in-suite extras – it’s these minor details that truly make suite luxury what it is. Find everything from fresh orchids and high quality toiletries, to complimentary stationery and pens, umbrellas, and a cruise card wallet.

3. Upgraded balcony furniture – spending time enjoying the view from a suite balcony can be a perfect evening, especially with the two comfortable loungers, and table with two chairs at which you can treat yourself to a glass of wine and some room-service dinner.

4. Dining advantages – suite guests benefit from priority reservations at speciality restaurants, and the superb service that comes with Club Class Dining, such as no waiting to be seated, dedicated waiting staff, and table side meal preparation.

5. Extra helpful services – those staying in a suite can make the most of services like same day laundry, shoe polishing, and luggage valet, all of which can make your stay even more comfortable and easy.

6. Priority excursion reservations – suite guests have a high chance of securing the shore excursion they want, with priority booking service onboard.

7. Sumptuous bedding – with Jacquard-woven cotton linens, and a pillow menu with plenty of choice, every night’s sleep onboard should be a solid and comfortable one.

8. Lotus Spa Thermal Suite – suite guests have access to this luxurious and relaxing spa area on selected Princess Cruises ships. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.

9. Private photography appointment – guests can make the most of the onboard photographer and obtain a really special personal memento, by booking an appointment for a private portrait session.

10. Special food treats – in addition to the above dining benefits, suite guests can enjoy treats like complimentary evening canapes, chef’s welcome goodies on embarkation day, in suite afternoon tea, and complimentary dining at a speciality restaurant on the first evening.

These are just ten of the fabulous array of advantages guests can receive if they book a Princess Cruises suite. Find out more about the benefits of booking a suite, or start planning your next cruise in a Princess Cruises suite

Upgrade your experience with Oceania Cruises

27th July 2016

Updated August 2019

When choosing a cruise it is often best to take a moment to think about what kind of stateroom you would like to stay in, and what affect this will have on your holiday. Oceania Cruises give you a sense of staying in a country hotel at sea, paired with sophisticated elegance and a casual country club atmosphere. Every stateroom onboard features an exclusive Oceania Prestige Tranquillity Bed, consisting of a magnificent eleven inch mattress, down feather pillows, and duvets which are covered in the finest 1000-count Egyptian cotton, as well as this, the view from your room can really add to your cruising experience. Carry on reading to find out why we recommend staying in a Veranda stateroom or above when sailing with Oceania Cruises.

Largest Veranda Staterooms at Sea

With Marina and Riviera boasting 282-square foot Veranda Staterooms, Oceania have ensured that these rooms were designed with quality and not quantity in mind. If you are someone that loves to spend time outside on the public sun decks, lounges, and restaurants while taking in the fresh sea air, but would also like to indulge in a little private luxury from time to time, then having your own spacious balcony means you can do this without feeling cramped.

Furnished Private Veranda

A Veranda onboard an Oceania Cruises ship is intended to be used. Expect seating and a table to sit back and enjoy a drink as you overlook the ocean, or enjoy that extra special touch of private outside dining by making the most of room service. Go one step further by staying in a Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom or Suite, and cuddle up with a luxurious cashmere blanket - perfect for relaxing and getting cosy.

Incredible Views

One of the main benefits of booking a Veranda Stateroom is the view. It's not every day that you're able to wake up in a new place; imagine waking up and stepping onto your balcony, inhaling the fresh air as you start your day. Or imagine sitting on your balcony and watching the beautiful coastlines of new ports coming into view.

The Suite Life

If you really want to indulge in your cruise and make it the trip of a lifetime, then consider upgrading to a Suite with Oceania Cruises. Rivalling any five star hotels, lavish suites offer grandeur and spaciousness and a host of exclusive privileges, making the experience more than superb. Everything is taken care of and everything is intended to make you feel like a VIP, from priority embarkation, unlimited access to Canyon Ranch SpaClub® private Spa Terrace, a variety of Bvlgari amenities, and 24-hour Butler service. There is no better reason to upgrade.

The Suite Life - More Than Just A Bigger Room

2nd May 2014

Updated November 2017

Do you cruise on a budget or believe 'only the best' will do?

Booking a suite is no longer just about booking a larger room, nowadays they offer so much more. Butler service, daily delivery of fresh flowers, a personal concierge, and exclusive access to shows are just some of the five star opportunities that can come with a cruise suite.

Booking a suite completely changes the cruise experience. Like a business class flight or a suite in a hotel, the price will of course be higher, but the question is – is it worth it?

With cruise lines now largely focusing on their suite enhancements, they push to offer the most exclusive of amenities to compete with other lines, and ensure they truly look after guests who have invested in a suite.

So is it worth it?

As well as the best room onboard, suite guests get the ultimate VIP treatment. As expected, the price is higher than a standard room, but when you look at the extras included it's hard to argue that it's not worth it.

All class of cruise lines - from big to small and two star to five star - offer suite categories. This enables you to broaden your search for that luxury experience, to almost any cruise line.

Staff onboard are highly trained, and are implicitly told to look after guests staying in suites to ensure they have the best cruise possible. This shows how much time and effort cruise lines put into ensuring that their suite guests are especially well-treated, and catered for.

Best of the best

After thoroughly looking into all suite enhancement programmes, there are certainly some that stand out above the rest and offer the most exclusive cruise experiences.

What our customers say

"I booked a Fred Olsen cruise with IGLU last month and was so impressed by the service I received. The staff member I spoke to was Kimberley and she was exemplary. Capable, kind, professional, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. She went through every step of the way calmly and thoroughly. IGLU were recommended to me by friends and I have no hesitation in passing the recommendation along. Well done IGLU and thank you. "

(March 2019)

"So easy to deal with, I studied the Cruise I wanted, did my research with different company's and returned to Iglu. I had three quotes matching Iglu’s cost, but with one phone call they beat the price themselves by £40 without me even asking, how easy was that! "
