2 Athens (Piraeus)
Athens (Piraeus)
Athens offers a blend of traditional Greek culture and modern hustle and bustle. The Acropolis and Parthenon are not to be missed.

3 Ephesus (Kusadasi)
Ephesus (Kusadasi)
Visit the Hellenistic and Roman city of Ephesus, founded in the 13th century BC. The site was first excavated in 1869 by British archaeologist, J T Wood and visitors can now see many of the Roman remains. One of the attractions of Ephesus is the fact that so much of it remains intact and little imagination is required to picture what the Roman city would have looked like.

5 Rhodes Town, Rhodes
Rhodes Town, Rhodes
The city of Rhodes is dominated, physically by the medieval castle which stands guard over the old harbour, at the eastern end of the town, its turrets and high walls delineate the town's skyline.

6 Thira, Santorini
Thira, Santorini
Santorini is the very essence of Greek charm. Sugar-cube houses cling to the cliffs. Vivid blue church domes add a splash of colour. And steep cliff-sides tumble into an impossibly clear sea. Just beautiful. Sample the wine or the cliff top views, the terraced bars and restaurants or the ancient Roman ruins on Santorini.

7 Chania, Crete
Chania, Crete
The old town of Chania is really worth a visit, as it is beautifully kept. I have a few favourite places we always visit when we are there. One of them is a cooperative for Cretan artist, where they have thousands of paintings at more than resonable prices (the price is usually €100, or can be "negotiated" to that price). It is situated in a small basement of a stone house in a back alley in the old town. There are also a couple of really nice restaurants, in buldings dating back to the 17th century with a ton of history. One of them (Tamarind) is in a old Turkish Bath house, and really worth a visit.

8 Nafplio
Nafplio
The town was the first capital of modern Greece, from 1829 to 1834 and now it is the capital of the prefecture of Argolis and the province of Nafplion. Here you can explore the great Mycenaean culture that flourished in this area, known as the Argolid plain, between 1600-1300BC. At its heart is the ancient city of Mycenae, reputedly the capital of Agamemnon and the "well built citadel" of Homer's Lliad.

We traveled on this ship in November this year and we both had an amazing time. The ship was spotless and the crew were out of this world. The food was also great with lots of choices to be had. The cabin was looked after each day with fresh towels and a device with a smile. We had a great trip and the Captain Jose got involved with all who were onboard the ship. We would travel again with this ship for sure.

We booked the Balinese Delights, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam with stays, 18 November 2018, Azamara Quest with Iglu. This included 3 nights in Ubud, 3 nights in Seminyak, I night pre-cruise, and 2 nights post cruise in Singapore, All private transfers were included, and everything went smoothly. Two tours were included in Bali, and we were provided with a driver and guide for both, the tours were flexible, so we could change the itinerary if we chose (within limits). We received texts or What's app confirmations for each of our transfers and tours - very impressed. The Visesa Ubud was a lovely relaxing spa hotel in the mountains, beautiful. Quite a contrast to the resort of Seminyak, a bustling beach resort, although the hotel was lovely. Azamara cruise, as always, delightful, couldn't fault the itinerary, staff service, food etc. We decided not to get the tender to Koh Samui, as the sea was very rough. Booked two shore excursions for Bangkok and one for Vietnam through Azamara, and although they were expensive, they were all very good, informative and well planned. The Azamazing evening in Vietnam was great, The One Farrer hotel in Singapore was excellent, a little bit further out than some hotels, but it's right on top of the MRT and it's very easy to get around. The flight were with Singapore Airlines - the economy seats give you slightly more room than some airlines, no problem with the flights. Overall, a fantastic holiday, well planned and thoroughly enjoyed!

Clean ship but small (600 passengers) so limited on board activities during sea days. Crew friendly and helpful. Excellent food quality but limited choice in speciality restaurants and buffet. Need to change menus far more often. Evening entertainment not particularly good and other acts below the standard you would expect. Spice cruise route was interesting and most tours were good value but in general the tour guides were difficult to understand. Enrichment lectures were well presented and interesting. This was a 'Terry Moore' themed cruise. Apparently a Hollywood actress I had never heard of before and though the idea badly judged.
