Day Port Due Depart
1 Dover
Dover
Dover is a town and major ferry port in the home county of Kent, in South East England. It faces France across the narrowest part of the English Channel, and lies south-east of Canterbury; east of Kent's administrative capital Maidstone; and north-east along the coastline from Dungeness and Hastings. The town is the administrative centre of the Dover District and home of the Dover Calais ferry through the Port of Dover.

Stavanger, Norway
For the more urban minded, Old Stavanger (Gamle Stavanger) is located right next to the city centre. This collection of eighteenth- and nineteenth century wooden structures is one of the finest in Northern Europe.

Extremely disappointing . This ship is NOT a luxury cruse liner. It was more like an upmarket butlins. Service was so poor, it was embarrassing at times.. People where queuing up to complain.

This was our first cruise and we enjoyed it more than we thought we would - though a week was long enough for us! Everything about the Ryndam was excellent - no complaints about anything. Cabin A Deck 801 was quiet, near the stairs and lifts and had a beautiful big window. Some reviews I read complained about the noise from engines in this cabin we all we heard was a hum, which can be heard all over the ship. Dress code worried me before we went but there was no need. Yes, men do need a suit, shirt and tie for formal nights but ladies can wear just about anything - though it is nice to get your glam rags on once in a while. Other nights are quite informal - especially in the Lido. One last thing I would point out is that HAL do try to take £300 per person for onboard spending - I did not know this was to happen and my bank would not authorise it - which caused a little trouble. Tell your bank before you leave about the above and see the Front Desk about reducing the amount - they are helpful. All in all really enjoyed ourselves and will probably go on another cruise - a shame it will not be on the Ryndam as its a lovely, old fashioned and smallish ship.

Just back from a cruise round Norway. Had a great time despite poor weather. We appreciated the on €350 board credit from Iglu, although Holland America don't make it easy to use as you can only access it once you are on board. As I wanted to book trips and restaurants prior to departure (which cost in excess of €700) I had to pay for them up front and then try to get them to refund the on-board credit once I was on board (as instructed by their help line). This sounds easier to do than it turned out, and until I get my credit card bill I'm not convinced it will have been done correctly. We also appreciated the 3 bottles of wine from Iglu, which were waiting in our cabin. The staff on board were happy for us to take them and drink in the restaurants. We also appreciated the 2 €50 soda cards, however, despite our best efforts we only used about €30 dollars on one, and the other card went unused. Unless it's one big family booking, one €50 card would be ample for two adults on a one week cruise, so Iglu could save some money there. Overall I'd be very happy to book with Iglu again. Thanks.
