We had a cruise on the Vision of the Seas in October. We found that the theatre provided more comfortable seating than other new ships. The shows were entertaining. But the variety of entertainment was not adequate. We expected that there should be a wider variety for passengers to choose. The ship was quite small, the good thing was there were fewer passengers and the ship was less crowded. We did not find any queues which was a good thing. However, as the size of the ship was small, the gym and the rock climbing wall were also small which really disappointed me.

I had the Holy Land Cruise with the Vision of the seas in October 2011. I found that it was a much smaller ship than the ones I had been on in the past. The good thing was that there were fewer passengers and it was less crowded and no need to queue up all the time. It was an old ship that feels old. The bed linen in my room was worn and it should be replaced. The shower curtain was awful, it was dirty with mildew when we first arrived. Luckily, a few days later, it was replaced by a new one. The food was disappointing, not as good as I expected.

We were on the Vision of the seas a couple of weeks ago for the Holy Land itinerary. It is a cruise which we had planned to do for a long time and we are glad it is one we can tick off the list now! Being in our 60's, it was the most adventurous cruise we have been on so far and we are relieved we did not leave it any later in our lives to do! In the run up to our cruise practically every port was on the news and to be honest, we were very worried. Luckily while we were there we did not witness any unrest or felt in danger at any time. Back to talking about the ship. We have been on many Royal Caribbean ships before and had travelled on 3 different classes: Freedom, Voyager and Radiance, so we knew what to expect. Vision is much smaller, but there were plenty of public areas dotted around the ship and we never felt crowded. One thing we did not enjoy on this cruise was the food. Both in the main dining room and in the buffet, the food just wasn't up to the standard of other Royal Caribbean ships we have been on. Overall, we had a good cruise with good weather at each port.

I travellled on the Vision's 11 night Holy Land cruise in October 2011. I'm a Diamond member with Royal Caribbean and was looking forward to a few perks, but was disappointed to find there was no preferential boarding at Istanbul port. I have been on quite a few of RCCL's Vision class ships before, Grandeur, Rhapsody, Enchantment, so I'm quite familiar with the size and layout of the ship, but I have to say although very clean, I found the Vision a little bit dated. Also quite pricey too, I managed to get a decent deal on the cruise price, but $9 or $10 for a glass of house wine is a bit steep! Best tip I have. We stopped in Ashdod, Israel (for Jerusalem & Tel Aviv), Ashdod port is extensive, Israeli security section off the ship and insist that all passengers either take a taxi from the gangway or a free shuttle to yet another security area at the harbour gate. If you are travelling to Ashdod (10 mins) or Tel Aviv (45 mins) definitely DO NOT take a taxi from the gangway, they will charge you a fortune! Take the free shuttle then haggle with the taxi's at the harbour gate. You will initially be quoted a ridiculous rate, walk right past, there is a bus stop just outside the security area at the port gate and the fare to Ahsdod central bus station is pennies and comes every 30 minutes. From Ashdod you can catch a bus to Tel Aviv or Jerusalem for 10% of the taxi rates. We took a bus to Tel Aviv, then a taxi back to the ship for 150 sheckel (they wanted 300 from Ashdod Port).

Me and my boyfriend went on an 11 night cruise with Royal Caribbean onboard Vision of the Seas and cruised from Lisbon back to Southampton. Check in at Lisbon port went very smooth and quick. We had booked an outside stateroom and were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and bathroom. There is one main dining room and a buffet restaurant. For breakfast and lunch we mostly went to the buffet just to get a quick bite and for dinner we had the second seating (at 8.45pm) which was perfect timing for us. That allows you to spend a full day in port and relax and get changed before dinner. The staff in the dinning room were fantatsic and no request was to much. The quality of food was very good and always plenty choices. Our table sat 10 people and luckily we got on with all. This was a great way of getting to know people. We had two days at sea and 8 stops which for us was a good mix. Onboard we tried a tango class, had a couples massage (very nice!) went to the cinema, climbed the rock climbing wall, played shuffle board, went to the gym, played table tennis, and relaxed at the pool. The cruise had a good balance of relaxation and activities and we had a great holiday!

My wife and I have just returned from a short cruise to Amsterdam and Oslo. This was our first cruise experience and everything about the ship was marvellous. The comfort of the cabin, the superb food and great entertainment were all wonderful but the friendly and ever-helpful staff made the cruise an absolute joy. We can't wait to sail again aboard Vision of the Seas.
